2016 Theme: The Church With A Mind To Minister Like Jesus

In 2016, Our theme this year is "The Church With A Mind To Minister Like Jesus." The key scripture is Philippians 2:5. Paul said," Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” This year, our church is committed to ministering like Jesus did to the people in our generation. In our scriptures from verses 1-11, Paul taught us some valuable lessons. In verses 1-4, Paul wrote of “The Unity That Produces Joy. In verse 5, he exhorted then to have the mind of Christ as the minister to others and serve God. In the following verses 6-11, he elaborates on the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ if we stay connected to God's power. God's power can be seen in the life of the New Testament church in the book of Acts. We see how 3,000 souls were saved on one day and 5,000 were saved on another day and that the Lord added to the church daily as such as would be saved, Acts 2:47. The church saw powerful miracles and they experienced amazing growth because they were filled with the Holy Ghost and obey the commandments of God. In 2016, we can experience that same growth and power in our lives, if we stay connected to God in prayer and by being filled with the Holy Spirit. This is having the mind of Christ.

We have the mind of Christ if we stay connected to God's people. Without God’s people, we cannot accomplish the work that God has given us to do through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. In Acts chapter 2, Luke said, "And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved." When we have the mind of Christ, we will love one another and fellowship together.

We have the mind of Christ if we stay connected to God's program. In order to stay connected to God's program, we must obey and follow him. Jesus program for the church involves equipping the saints of God with the Word of God and the skills to read, study, pray, evangelize, worship, give, live, preach, teach, and help others through missions. This year, we will be that church  with a mind to minister like Jesus. Paul said, “Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” In 2016, we are committed to following our theme and seeing the results of our labor.
